| Epley Enterprises Inc. was incorporated in San
Angelo, Texas in 1978. Our founder and C.E.O. Kenneth R. Epley, began manufacturing
down-the-hole percussion drill bits in 1963 in San Angelo, Texas under the name of Economy
Bit Company. Later Economy Bit was purchased by G.W. Murphy Company which was later
acquired by Reed Tool Company. In 1973 Reed Tool Company merged with Baker Oil Tool
Company who immediately named Mr. Epley president of Bakerdrill division. Through all
these transitions and acquisitions Ken continued to manage the production plant in San
Angelo as well as plants in Spartanburg, South Carolina , Edmonton-Alberta, Canada, and
Melbourne, Australia. When Baker International (formerly Baker Tool Co.) decided to
redirect its energies toward the oil industry, Mr. Epley saw the opportunity to take back
the manufacturing of hard rock drilling products and purchased the license to manufacture
percussion air hammers and drill bits from Baker International in 1978. Never faltering from his commitment to quality, Mr. Epley has seized every opportunity to employ the latest standards in technology materials and workmanship. Using the highest grade, heat treated steel alloys available, our engineers, draftsman, and highly skilled machinists develop and manufacture the finest downhole percussion hammers and hammer bits available on the market today. EEI manufactures bits for almost every popular brand of hammer on the market in sizes that range from 3" to 35" in diameter. |
